Sizing
How to measure a jar for a label.
Measure the jar you'll label, then enter your exact size when you order. Your free proof shows the label at its final size.
Use your actual jar
Jars with the same capacity can have different heights, shoulders and lid sizes. Measure the jar you'll label, not its stated volume.
Find the flat area
Find the straight or flat part of the jar between the lid line and the curve at the base. That's where a front or wrap label sits.
Measure the label height
Measure that straight area from top to bottom. Your label height should fit inside it.
Front label: measure the face
For a label on the front only, measure the width of the face you want to cover.
Wrap label: measure around
For a label that wraps around, measure the circumference with a soft tape or a strip of paper, or multiply the diameter by 3.14.
Leave a margin
Size the label to sit inside the area you measured, clear of the lid line, shoulders, seams and the base, rather than filling every edge.
Front or wrap?
- Front label
- Covers one face of the jar. Quick to apply by hand, and leaves the jar visible around it.
- Wrap label
- Runs most or all of the way around, with more room for your brand and details. Measure the circumference, and leave a gap if the ends shouldn't meet.
Lid labels
Measure the flat top of the lid inside the rim, then choose a circle a little smaller than that so the label sits clear of the edge. A lid label is simply another label size: it can carry your logo, or on Holographic, add a finish that catches the light.

Can you print lid labels?
Yes. A lid label is simply another label size. Measure the flat top of the lid inside the rim and choose a circle a little smaller than that. Planning front and lid labels for the same jar? Ask us and we'll help you with the sizes.
Should my jar label be round or rectangular?
Circles suit lids and round seals, rectangles suit front labels on straight-sided jars, ovals give a softer front label, and a custom shape can follow your brand mark. You can choose Rectangle, Square, Circle, Oval and Custom Shape; the shape doesn't change the price.
What's the minimum order?

50 Gloss White labels start at $35 and 50 Holographic labels start at $45. Your exact price depends on the size, material and quantity you choose, and the order tool shows it before you send your order request.

What if my jars are chilled, or exposed to moisture or oils?
Tell us how the jar will be used, including whether it will be chilled. If the product will be exposed to moisture, oils or frequent handling, ask TAGS about lamination or specialty finishing options for the application.
Will I receive a proof?
Yes. Every order includes a free digital proof showing your label at its final size. Review it, ask for any changes you need, and nothing prints until you approve it.
How long does production usually take?
Typical production is 2–3 business days after proof approval. Larger, custom or specialty orders can take longer, and shipping time is additional.
Do jar labels come on sheets or rolls?
Standard custom label orders are supplied on flat sheets that are easy to peel by hand and store. Need your labels on a roll for higher-volume or applicator use? Roll Labels are quoted individually.
